A graduate of Cary High School and Campbell University. Earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University in Physical Education and minor in science. Spent 8 years teaching Health and Physical Education in Lee County, Wake County, and Bladen County where I was an Athletic Director and coached football, wrestling, track and field, girls' basketball, and strength and conditioning. For the last 36 years I have been in health-related sales, marketing, management, training/education, and Population Health.
My wife, Linda, and I home educated our son, Patrick, who is now 28 years old. We operated a small family farm, and we participated in Farmers Markets across the Triangle. We were also part of the sustainable small farm movement specializing in niche products where we worked closely with North Carolina A&T University. Our home education participation allowed us to be active in many different activities from homeschool sports, Christian Youth Theater, showing animals at the state fair, and First Lego League. I have also had the privilege to participate in mentoring disadvantaged youth and was a member of ABRO, American Belarus Relief Organization, to host a child from Belarus during the summer months.
